Sisyphus's fate

An urban, philosophical chronicle that exposes the gears of false meritocracy through the eyes of a young man looking for a job. Confronting the naive hope of "work hard and you will succeed" with the bureaucratic coldness of corporate offices and the privilege of nepotism, the track uses the myth of Sisyphus to portray the exhausting, invisible cycle of the working class.

Behind the Scenes: "Sina de Sísifo" (Sisyphus' Fate) was born from the urgency to debate the illusions of meritocracy in a society deeply marked by inequality. The narrative follows a young man's preparation ritual—polished shoes, a mother's blessing, nervousness hidden behind a menthol lozenge—as he walks under the sun toward a job interview, carrying the weight of his expectations and dignity in his folder. The poetic spark came from contrasting the horizon drawn by hope with the cold water of exclusionary corporate culture. While for the ruling classes a mistake is easily forgiven and the "wildcard" of status and family names guarantees the top, for most people the search for success becomes the eternal punishment of Sisyphus: pushing the boulder of hard work only to be sent back to the starting point by the phrase "We'll call you." The song is a cry to break free from statistics, exposing the chasm between those who live off "the beach sand" and those who survive on "the shovel sand."

I put on my new clothes,
(Botei a roupa nova,)

My shoes shining bright.
(Sapato no brilho.)

All ready for the test
(Todo pronto pra prova)

"God bless you, son!"
(“Deus te abençoe filho!”)

In the middle of the noise,
(No meio do barulho,)

I walked from sun to sun,
(Caminhei de sol a sol,)

I go full of pride.
(Vou cheio de orgulho.)

Nervously, I chew a menthol.
(Nervoso mastigo mentol.)

An icy room, I feel cold,
(Sala de gelo, fico com frio,)

Nose turned up, that's my pride!
(Nariz empinado, é meu brio!)

I draw the horizon
(Desenho horizonte)

With a very bright day!
(Com o dia bem claro!)

A mountain of hope!
(Esperança de monte!)

What is wrong with that?
(Que que tem de errado?)

I am the "almost" of yesterday,
(Sou o “quase” de ontem,)

The "emptiness" of right now.

Following this fate,
(Seguindo nessa sina,)

I pray: God, point me the way!
