Finger on the Wound

A courageous call to the necessary confrontation with our own shadows. "Dedo na Ferida" symbolizes the breaking point where we stop hiding traumas under the rug to light up our dark rooms. Playing with a metaphor that initially feels like a romantic fallout, the track reveals itself as a manifesto about the pain that liberates, self-acceptance, and the growth that only reaches those who do not fear their own future.

Behind the Scenes: "Dedo na Ferida" was born from the close study of the book Existential Conflicts by Joanna de Ângelis. The work sparked an urgent need to address the psychology of self-knowledge through music. The core insight is that silence and deliberate omission do not bring real peace; they merely act as an anesthetic that feeds fear. Although the lyrics use a framework that can easily be mistaken for a traditional romantic breakup, the song proposes a much more intimate dialogue: it is about the love and the reckoning between ourselves and our own reflection. A piece about the courage to face one's own abyss to, finally, emerge free.

The dust insists on hiding under the rug

And we pretend that silence is peace

But what hurts doesn't disappear if we forget it

Fear is a beast that feeds on "whatever"

It's time to turn on the light in the dark room
(É hora de acender a luz do quarto escuro)

And face what was left behind
(E encarar o que ficou pra trás)

You can't heal what you don't feel

You can't change what you omit

The mirror doesn't lie, it only reflects
(O espelho não mente, ele só reflete)

The truth that the soul still allows
(A verdade que a alma ainda permite)

It's a finger on the wound, without fear of the truth

It's facing the abyss to emerge from it
(É encarar o abismo para dele emergir)

To trade security for freedom
(Trocar a segurança pela liberdade)

And open the door that I myself forgot to open

Because only those who do not fear the future will grow!
