Geraldo is clueless
A catchy, satirical urban chronicle about a total lack of common sense and civic duty. Through the character of Geraldo—who takes up multiple parking spots, blasts his speakers, screams on speakerphone at the bank, and feels completely above the law—the track uses sharp humor to critique modern individualism, celebrating a long-awaited moment of poetic justice when the ticket finally arrives.
Traffic jammed, horns honking, and Geraldo shouting:
(Trânsito parado, buzinaço e Geraldo gritando:)
"Take it easy, boss! It's just a quick second, I'm just going to the bakery!"
(“Calma, chefia! É rapidinho, vou só ali na padaria!”)
Here comes that guy Geraldo,
(Lá vem o tal do Geraldo,)
The owner of the entire area.
(O dono da área inteira.)
His car takes up two parking spots,
(O carro ocupa duas vagas,)
Parked right in the middle of the street market.
(Parado no meio da feira.)
He ignores the sign and the traffic light,
(Ignora a placa e o sinal,)
Because his law is whatever he wants.
(Pois sua lei é o seu querer.)
He blocks the driveway and the storm drain,
(Tranca a guia e o bueiro,)
He doesn't give a damn about you.
(Não tá nem aí pra você.)
Geraldo is clueless and has no brakes!
(Geraldo é sem noção e sem freio!)
Are there two spots? He parks right in the middle!
(Tem duas vagas? Para no meio!)
The volume at max, the steel bass pounding,
(O som no talo, o grave de aço,)
Geraldo is the owner of the space!
(Geraldo é o dono do espaço!)
"It's just a minute!", he screams,
(“É um minutinho!”, ele berra,)
While the traffic comes to a dead stop.
(Enquanto o trânsito travou.)
He thinks the street is his backyard,
(Acha que a rua é seu quintal,)
And that he is doing you a favor.
(E ele está te fazendo um favor)
The trunk already pops open,
(O porta-malas já abre,)
The massive sound wall becomes the king.
(O “paredão” vira o rei.)
The sound shakes the whole building,
(O som sacode o prédio todo,)
He feels like he's above the law.
(Ele se sente acima da lei.)
At the bank, the guy is completely clueless,
(No banco o cara é sem noção,)
The speakerphone is loud for everyone to hear,
(O viva-voz é pra geral,)
No filter and no manners at all,
(Sem filtro e sem educação,)
And he thinks this is completely normal.
(E ele acha isso normal.)
He talks about his ex, talks about his godson,
(Fala da ex, fala do afilhado,)
He shouts so the whole crowd can listen.
(Berra pro povo escutar.)
If someone gives him an annoyed look,
(Se alguém olha invocado,)
He immediately starts complaining.
(Ele já começa a reclamar.)
But the officer arrives with his pen,
(Mas chega o guarda e a caneta,)
Geraldo puts on a huge drama show:
(Geraldo faz o dramalhão:)
"Go arrest the real criminals, come on!
(“Vão prender os bandidos, pô!)
Stop with this persecution!"
(Para com essa perseguição!”)
There goes Geraldo blocking the street...
(Lá vai o Geraldo trancando a rua... )
"The lecture is over!
(“Acabou o sermão!)
This ticket is yours!"
(Essa multa é sua!”)
Geraldo grumbles:
(Geraldo resmunga:)
"The world has gotten so boring, bro!"
(“Mundo tá chato, mermão!”)
