The Two Wings
A reinterpretation in English and R&B of the original track "As Duas Asas" (The Two Wings). With a visceral female interpretation, the song casts a critical eye on the mismatch between technological advancement (silicon machines, the doomsday button) and the spiritual stunting of humanity. It is a manifesto that calls for balance between mind and heart to avoid collapse.
From space, the Earth is so slight,
A simple body, bathed in light.
But the lens is blind, it goes astray,
Missing the soul, the deep-linked way.
Silicon machines, they rise so tall,
While universal life begins to fall.
Using ancient steel, the force of old,
To solve the modern world, so grey and cold.
The primal struggle turned to greed,
The Being forgotten in our speed.
From fear, the hollow man is born,
Using "Having" as a shield, while we are torn.
Like ice on the fire,
The deception is over now.
The mirror of illusion
Is shattered on the ground.
It hurts to wake up late, it’s true,
But look at the dawn... it’s waiting for you.
From the tiny atom’s core,
To the starry heights we soar.
No math can solve the dark within,
No formula to end the sin.
An internal war, a stage to play,
Two wings trying to find their way.
The power of knowing, the light we find,
And the "well-wishing" heart, left behind.
The mind flies fast, but the spirit is slow,
Time to leave the cage, gotta let it go.
We built the button, we designed the end...
But who’s gonna stop it? Not us, my friend.
Like ice on the fire,
The deception is over now.
The mirror of illusion
Is shattered on the ground.
It hurts to wake up late, it’s true,
But look at the dawn... it’s waiting for you.
Watching with our arms crossed tight,
Televised scripts in the middle of the night.
Where the Sacred acts like a prison guard,
And a hollow peace leaves us battle-scarred.
Open your wings... open both of them wide,
Let Love and Knowledge be the streets where we glide.
Drink from the new fountain, let the spirit rise,
Fly beyond the horizon, to the endless skies.
